About this beach
Čanj Beach is a long, popular sandy beach in the village of Čanj, about 12 km north of Bar centre. Backed by gentle hills and a strip of cafes and accommodation, it offers a classic Montenegrin seaside feel with calm, clear Adriatic water perfect for swimming.
The beach is wide enough to spread out even at peak season, with sun loungers and parasols available for hire along most of its length. Water sports equipment — pedalos, kayaks and jet skis — can be rented nearby. The setting is relaxed and social, appealing equally to families with young children and groups of friends looking for a full beach day.
Good to know
Čanj can get very busy in July and August; arrive early to claim a good spot. The village is easily reached by car from Bar on the coastal road, and local buses also stop here. Bring cash for sunbed rentals and the beachside snack bars.
